Benefits Eligibility Screening | Abayomi

Benefits access refers to the ability for people to apply for and receive benefits for which they are eligible.

One of the primary key benefits is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known in Michigan as the Food Assistance Program (FAP), which is disseminated via the Bridge Card. Other key benefits include: Medicare Savings Program (MSP); Medicare Extra Help – Low-income Subsidy (LIS); Medicaid; Social Security Income (SSI); and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP); and tax credits, such as the Home Heating Credit and the Homestead Property Tax Credit. Many older adults are unaware they might qualify for SNAP or other key benefits. As such, part of our programming includes outreach and education regarding eligibility.
