A $10.4 million project expected to bring “new vitality and much-needed housing” to a critical Detroit neighborhood has won state and local financial incentives of more than $2.6 million.
The new three-story building, featuring apartments and commercial space, will span a block in Detroit’s Bagley Fitzgerald neighborhood between the University of Detroit Mercy and the Marygrove Conservancy, according to a news release from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Planned for 7303 W. McNichols Road, the project will begin with the demolition of three vacant buildings between Prairie and Monica streets. Brownfield abatement will follow.
