Self-care is necessary for everyone. Like adults, young people experience daily stresses from school and relationships, which can impact their well being. However, we don’t see enough self-care practices that target teens.

On Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 1PM-7PM, eleven24 and Abayomi Community Development Corporation will host the Teen Self Care Fair at the New St. Mark Family Life Center.

Young people will learn strategies for self-care practices and make connections with organizations serving their demographic. There will be several workshops including: yoga, gardening, writing, meditation, art, and mini-therapy sessions. Food will be provided to attendees. Space is limited to 50 participants. The event is free.

Local COVID-19 protocols will be in place for this event. The Detroit Health Department is recommending everyone, including those who are fully vaccinated, to wear a mask indoors in order to maximize protection from the highly contagious Omicron variant. Masks will be required unless the participant is eating or drinking.
